Anxiety about starting something new is perfectly ok, we all worry about what’s to come. There is often a new routine, new people to get used to and new things to learn. A lot of these new things might also need to be done without a parent nearby. Learning how to manage anxiety symptoms and understand more about anxiety can help. That is what you’ll find in this anxiety toolkit.

Sometimes not knowing what is going to happen can cause us all to be worried. Children don’t always recognise or know how to explain the thoughts they are having.

Aimed at children 6+ but with a little help with reading, our anxiety toolkit could be used but younger children. It is full of lots of exciting colourful bits to help make things feel a little less scary. It helps teach them about their emotions and the different techniques they can do to help them cope or distract their thoughts.

In this box, there is:

💜 4x Emotion Cards – Each card has a different emotion along with 3 suggested ways to help cope with the feeling.

💚 Bubbles – for when it feels hard to just breathe and relax your body.

💛 Bookmark – great for giving you a positive feeling every time you pick up your favourite book.

💙 4x Information Cards – a breathing technique card to use alongside the bubbles, a ‘how to use your coping cards’ card. As well as, one to help children understand ‘what anxiety looks like’ and one about ‘starting something new.’

💜 A5 ‘What is on my Mind’ Notepad – great for helping with acknowledging the thought, thinking about what could help make it better. Then looking back at how it went at the end of the day.

💚 A Friendship Bracelet – great for playing with to distract your mind when you’re feeling anxious.

💛 The Mind Post Pen – to help you fill in your notepad.

💙 A Colouring Card – a relaxing technique. It is good for the mind (please note that these may differ from the picture).
